Store Configuration

To edit the store front configurations, go to Store Manager->Store Configurations.

  • Use the WYSIWYG editor when adding or editing products? - this turns the WYSIWYG editor on and off when adding or editing products. Sometimes the editor becomes cumbersome when managing many products.
  • AJAX WYSIWYG pause (in seconds - max 59) - if the WYSIWYG editor is enabled when editing products, this pause is used to fill the editor with your product description. In cases where there is a longer than normal lag, this pause may need to be increased to fully populate the editor.
  • Total quantity allowed for the cart - this is the maximum number of products (including multiples of the same product) allowed in a customers cart at any one time when checking out.
  • Total quantity of one product to be added - this is the maximum number of any one product that a customer can add to their cart at a time.
  • Prefix for all order numbers - this is an optional prefix that will be appended to all order numbers.
  • Prefix for all customers - this is an optional prefix appended to all customer id numbers. This prefix is only displayed for the customer in their management screen.
  • Currency symbol to use within the storefront - this is the currency symbol used within your store. You must set this as well as the LCID (See below).
  • Enter the three characters currency code you would like the products in the store to be displayed as costing. - this is the currency code used on the store. It is also used in real-time shipping calculations and any payment gateways that require it.
  • Locale identifier (LCID). Used to determine how to display currencies. - this is an identifier that helps the system know from where your store is based. This will change how money is displayed and how dates are displayed.
  • DD/MM/YY or MM/DD/YY - this is the date format to use within the store. This must also (in addition to the LCID) be set to properly display dates within the store.
  • Minimum purchase cost amount - set this to a number higher than 0 to force customers to purchase at least this amount before being allowed to checkout.
  • Enable to require customers to enter at least one option for products that have options associated with them. - this is a blanket setting that will force all option groups to be required, regardless of what the administrator has set for the group on the individual product.
  • Enable to show wholesale prices to all customers - this will cause the store to initially display wholesale prices when a customer enters the store. If the customer logs in and is a dealer, then the dealer pricing will override the wholesale pricing.
  • Calculate Tax-Per-Place considering shipping - enable this to tax shipping in addition to the order subtotal.
  • Enable to avoid decimal rounding with regards to money - if you enable this, the system will use four digits for the fractions of the price. So, for example you could have a product whose price is $1.8573. This carries over to tax, shipping and all other calculations and is especially useful when taxes or prices are causing fractional amounts that go out more than two digits. Normally the amount is rounded using the standard method.
  • Add product to order if that product is out of stock? - sometimes you would like to allow customers to be able to add products to their orders even if the product is out of stock.
  • Tax included in price - enable this to display a note to customers saying that taxes are included in the price of the product. This only displays a note. The note is displayed on the cart page.
  • Number of items listed in pages with pagination - this includes lists on both storefront and management pages (12 is the default). - this is the number of items to display whenever there is pagination. This includes places on the store such as the category page that lists products within the category, and the manager in places such as the page that lists all the customers in the store.
  • This is the language used on both the storefront and manager pages. - this is the language id number to use within the store. Found under Store Manager->Languages.

Store Settings

  • Enable to display product stock levels to customers - if you don't want "no stock" or "stock: 99" messages displayed then you can disable this to get rid of those messages. Those messages are displayed on the home page, product detail page and category list page. This doesn't affect how stock is treated or stock levels.
  • Allow new customers to create new accounts? Setting this to No will not let any new customers create new accounts. - you can disable the ability for users to create their own accounts. This does not prevent administrators from creating accounts within the manager.
  • Number of products to display in home page - this is the number of products to display on the main page of your store. The system will randomly pick from products that you have set as "Show on Homepage" (see product manager).
  • Close the store. Customers may shop as normal. However, they will not be able to checkout. Allows you to create online catalogs. - if you set this then the store will still work but all references to "My Account", "Checkout", "Cart", etc. will be removed and customers will not be able to add any products to a cart - even if they have bookmarked the cart page.
  • Vat Number in OrderForm - this allows you to turn on or off the form field which allows customers to enter their VAT number. When this is enabled, the field appears to customers on the page where they select their payment method.
  • Allow customers to sort products on the product listing page (does not affect the storefront home page). - sometimes store owners do not want customers to be able to sort products. When sorting is turned on, it is based either on price, product name, brand, popularity, or rating.
  • Set to Yes to display each products popularity. - popularity is the number of times a product has been viewed.
  • Number of levels to display in the category navigation in the left-side of the storefront. - this is how deep to display the categories and subcategories on the store front.
